SkLO : OBJECT

SkLO : OBJECT is our core production line of functional, semi-functional and sculptural objects and accessories. While the focus of SkLO is Czech Glass, our OBJECT line goes beyond glass to highlight our metal fabrication abilities and more.

The heart of our work is Czech glass, drawing on hundreds of years of tradition and experience. Our designs strive to highlight what is inimitable and unique about Czech glass: scale (the ability to blow large forms with great precision), clarity of glass, perfect depth of color, and the Czech abilities at cutting and polishing. Working directly with the glassmasters in their studios in the Czech Republic, SkLO brings a modern sensibility to the Czech glass tradition. We are proud that our work is rooted in craft: where our product is made and who makes it is an important part of the design process and the quality of the end product. SkLO is rooted in the unique synergy found between the discipline of design and the tradition of craft.

Our design philosophy is rooted in materiality and process. Highlighting process plays a critical role in SkLO designs - revealing the unseen beauty of the materials and the way things are made, resulting in details and subtleties that make each piece unique. While our philosophy extends to all that we do, our work in SkLO : OBJECT is, in a sense, a pure expression of how we think.
